“SECOND NATURE” - Alternate Edition

SECOND NATURE: represent my journey back to the love and innocence I had for art as a child.

Before art became something to question, perfect, or define, it was simply something I loved to do. It was natural. It was a way to imagine, create, and express myself without worrying about how it would be received. As I grew older, that innocence became easier to lose as life, expectations, and the pressure to figure myself out began to shape the way I viewed creativity. 

This piece represents retrieving that part of myself. 

The figure reflects me reconnecteing with the person I was before I became so concerned with who I was supposed to be. The artwork surrounding the figure represents the creativity that has always been within me, even when I became disconnected from it. 

Second Nature serves as a reminder that I don't have to become someone new to find myself. I can return to the things that made me feel most like me in the first place.
